Photos Printed On Canvas – What You Can Do At Home To Prepare Them
Due to the great era of technology, we are fortunate to be able to have our favourite photos printed on canvas and made to look like a work of art. The technical name for these prints is giclee or geyclee. The photo technician uses large, commercial printers to print your images onto your preferred size and then they stretch it onto a deep frame. It is advised to prepare your images at home for maximum effect before sending them off to the printers or before you walk into the store with your image.
You should always try and take your desired photograph with your camera set on a high res setting The higher the res, the clearer your photo will be. Just wait and see how clear your photo will look once it is put onto canvas. So remember, if your camera is one that has mega pixels of eight, you will have four more times the res of a camera that has two. The camera with eight megapixels will give your image eight million more colored dots than that of a two megapixel that will produce an image with two million dots.
After taking your photo or photos, go to your computer and save it as a file. When it is saved, open up photoshop or any other manipulation software you might have on your computer.
To zoom onto the image, click on View size of print. This allows you to see the photo at its biggest size.
Most of large formatting printers at the photo labs will print at three hundred dpi for printing onto canvas so be sure to save your image or images as a tiff or jpeg file at three hundred dpi (this means dots per inches)
These steps should help with preparation of your pictures for basic canvas printing. There are also simple tutorials available on the internet if you would like to prepare your photos for art in a variety of different styles such as, Block Colour Border Gallery wrap or Mirror Image Wrap. Simply Google preparation of Gallery Wrap, Block Colour Border or Mirror Image Wrap and you will soon be on your way to creating beautiful pieces of art.
